Orbix™ Operation Instructions

1

RELEASE
One motion is all that is required to release the centric latches of both hinges. To release, place your thumb on the outside of one hinge and your forefinger on the outside of the other hinge and squeeze as shown until you hear the hooks on both hinges release from their locked position. This puts the articulator in the functional mode to allow protrusive and lateral motions.

2
LOCK
Two motions are required to lock the articulator. To lock, squeeze each of the two double columns just below the latch as shown until you hear the hook snap into the locked position.

Note: in certain situations it may be advantageous to check the occlusion with only one hinge locked.
NOTE: it is especially important to make sure that both latches are fully engaged when the articulator is glued to the model. If a hook is only partially engaged when the articulator is affixed to the model then it will make it difficult to ever fully lock that latch after the articulator is mounted to the model.
